1.Pixel:
A pixel is the short name for picture element. It is the smallest component of the display that can be individually controlled.
2.Pixel Pitch:
A pixel pitch (or Center-to-Center Spacing) is distance between the centers of one pixel to another and measured in millimeters (mm).
3.Module:
A module is the minimal unit that can display data or a combination of a fixed number of pixels.
4.Resolution:
Resolution is the total pixels in a single display. The higher resolutions make better display quality.
5.Luminance:
Luminance of LEDs is measured using nits (cd/m2),
6.Viewing Angle:
The viewing angle is the total spectrum that the characters and graphics can be seen clearly.
7.Viewing Distance?
Measured in meter, the maximum distance, the character graphics in display can be seen clearly.
8.How to select the right LED display that can be used in customized environment.
- Effective viewing distance and actual space.
- Pixel pitch and resolution
- Unit cabinet mounting area calculation
- The space of installation and maintenance for LED display
- The affection between LED display dip angel and viewing distance.
9.What is the customers display content?
- Text display: Depend on text dimension and resolution.
- General video display: 320x240 Pixel resolution.
- Digital standard DVD: ≥640×480 Pixel resolution.
- Complete video display:≥800×600 Pixel resolution.
10.What is the requirement of luminance for LED display.
-Indoor:>800CD/M2
- Semi-indoor:>2000CD/M2
-Outdoor(while LED display faces North):>4000CD/M2
-Outdoor(while LED display faces South):>8000CD/M2
11.What is the requirement of luminance for white light that is composed of RGB LED?
With mass experiment, the proportion for white light can be suggested as follow:
Simple suggested RGB luminance proportion: 3:6:1
Precise suggested RGB luminance proportion: 3.0:5.9:1.1
12.How to calculate the white light luminance for each single pixel?
Example: Pixel Density: 2500pixel/m2, 2R1G1B, luminance:5000 cd/m2.
Red LED luminance: 5000÷2500×0.3÷2=0.3cd
Green LED luminance: 5000÷2500×0.6=1.2cd
Blue LED luminance: 5000÷2500×0.1=0.2 cd
Luminance of single pixel: 0.3×2+1.2+0.2=2.0cd
13. Can SMD LED be used for outdoor LED display?
Cannot, Outdoor LEd display requires higher protection level(at least IP65), SMD can not meet this requirement and endure outdoor envirnment.
Higher brightness will be needed for outdoor LED dispplay, at least 4000Nits. SMD LED still can not meet this requirement at this moment.
14.How many pixels can be controlled by one set of control system?
DVI interface, two basic color:1600×1024 Pixels
DVI interface, full color:1024×512 Pixels
